Marilyn Johnston, Credit Analyst/Collector at Quoizel, is currently volunteering her time on her 9th house with Habitat for Humanity Berkeley County.
Marilyn, originally a New Yorker, moved to SC when the company’s headquarters relocated to Goose Creek, SC. It was then that she began volunteering her time with the Habitat for Humanity. Marilyn, who also volunteers for the Family Services Committee, explains “The prospective homeowner doesn’t just get handed a house. They must work 350 Sweat Equity Hours at The Restore. They take classes in finance, small home repairs, energy efficiency, etc. They also have to pay closing costs and make monthly payments on their mortgage which are interest free. They are very much involved in the entire process.”
Our congratulations to Marilyn who has been asked to sit on the Berkeley County Habitat Board of Directors beginning in October! It is great to acknowledge Marilyn’s efforts towards this worthy organization.
