Quoizel’s Own Ira Phillips Receives Lifetime Achievement Award!

Quoizel’s own Ira Phillips was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Lighting One at last week’s 2014 Lighting One Convention!  The award was graciously accepted by the very surprised Ira who thanked the industry for honoring him with such a prestigious tribute.

The Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, TX is where 250 lighting showrooms and   suppliers attended the annual awards ceremony.

Known as the “PT Barnum of the Lighting Industry,” Ira Phillips joined Quoizel in 1964 and since has led it through extraordinary growth by expanding the product mix and providing innovative merchandising strategies to retailers. Phillips acquired full ownership in 1986. Today, Quoizel remains a privately held, family-owned and operated business offering more than 2,000 items in its full-line catalog. Quoizel has 150 employees between 3 locations in South Carolina, New York and China.

It’s Throwback Thursday!

Everyone who is anyone in the lighting industry is at the Dallas Market Center this week introducing and previewing the best in lighting.

At Market in 1995, Quoizel introduced the Danbury Collection which offered porcelain with polished brass in floor and table lamps.  The Collection also offered 3, 19 & 24-light chandeliers.

Today, Quoizel is introducing over 300+ new pieces, one of which is this beautiful table lamp by Carolyn Kinder. A classic design, the Saratoga table lamp is versatile in design suitable for a reading nook or accenting a piece of beloved furniture.  The brown glaze on the base is speckled in green and is accented with aged brass finished metal.  The rectangular white fabric shade completes the look.

Lamps Can Warm Up Your Home This Winter

Across the country, winter has proven to be pretty brutal, and we still have a long way to go before Spring.  There have been dramatic changes in temperature from one day to the next, and if your part of the world hasn’t seen record-breaking low temperatures, you’ve seen record-breaking rain fall.

As the temperatures continue to drop, we move indoors to seek comfort and warmth, and the one thing that you have control over is what’s happening inside your home.   A lack of light will make your home feel more like a cave than a retreat. Lighting plays an important role in being able to see, but it also affects our mood too. Finding the right lighting can be the solution to creating an inviting home for your family and guests.

It’s Throwback Thursday!

With the 2014 Market only a few days away, it’s a great time to show the before and after photos of Quoizel’s Dallas Showroom.

Back in 2012, Quoizel hosted a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony where they unveiled their expanded and renovated 14,000 square foot showroom.

It has proven to be state-of-the-art in both fashion and function.

Don’t forget to join Quoizel at the 2014 Dallas Market from January 14th through the 20th where Quoizel will be unveiling approximately 300 new items!
