Meet Devane Design – Our First Designer Spotlight!

A classic designer, Chantal, originally from the Boston area credits her mom, a realtor, for sparking her interest in the home industry.   As a young girl, she recalls changing and moving her bedroom furniture to alter the look of her room on a regular basis…foreseeing a budding career ahead.

After moving to Minneapolis, Chantal embarked on her design career in 1999. Eventually starting her own business in 2003, she recalls her very first project was a neighbor’s log cabin.  Talk about diving in head first! Although arduous, she found it extremely rewarding. “I work really hard to get to know my clients on a personal level, and I strive to make each design unique and specific to my client and their home—and the way they live in it.”

Is a DIY Bath Renovation for You?

A DIY bathroom project… Not an easy task but well worth it!

Tracey and her husband tackled a do-it-yourself project and survived the trials and tribulations of converting a 10×13 bedroom into a bathroom.

The original bedroom had gray walls and one window. Wanting to go with natural earth tones, they started looking for counter tops and cabinets with browns and grays in them. They decided on almond cabinets highlighted with gray and a marble “River Bottom” counter top that included browns and grays.
