When you are planning out your home’s lighting scheme, it is fairly common to use either flush or semi-flush lighting fixtures. Unlike direct task and accent lighting, flush and semi-flush fixtures are ceiling-mounted to provide illumination to a larger more generalized space. So what exactly is the difference between semi-flush and flush mounted lighting?
Flush Mounted Lighting
The electrical box as well as all the component wires are placed in a space above the room’s ceiling surface. A flush mounted light is directly connected to the inset power source. A wide variety of lighting fixtures can then be mounted flush with the ceiling, eliminating the space between the ceiling and the fixture.
