In September, 2011 Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee hit Upstate New York with much devastation. Unfortunately, Friedman Electric’s Johnson City location was hit by both storms which severely damaged their store. The flood water in the warehouse went as high as 14 feet and the showroom topped out at 7 1/2 feet.
The store, displays and merchandise were all destroyed. There was a commitment to the community to rebuild, and Friedman wanted to put the hard work and money into a store that their customers could be proud of.
Friedman has reopened its doors and their loyal customers couldn’t be happier. Yesterday Friedman Electric hosted a grand reopening to thank their employees and volunteers for all their hard work. It’s another encouraging sign for the community to see a store like Friedman rise from destruction to the beautiful showroom it is today.
