Summer…if we could bottle it up!

Internship Continues to Shine!

The Quoizel internship program began in 2011 and continues to grow each year, welcoming new and returning interns who are gaining great work experience. This program has opened doors to many past students including Carter Gerard & Eric Lee, who both saw their own designs come to life in a handful of new introductions back in January.

This year, Xiaowen Shao, Hima Tadimeti and Aditi Vyas will be working with Quoizel’s Peter Cox until the end of August doing research, analyzing sales and trends and working on new designs.

All three interns come to Quoizel from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Hima, who has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications, and Xiaowen, who has Bachelor’s degrees in English and Engineering, are both working towards their Master’s degree in Industrial Design. Aditi recently graduated from SCAD with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design.

The Party of the Summer didn’t Disappoint!

In support of The H Foundation, the lighting industry unites to fight cancer. Held in Chicago, The Goombay Bash is a Caribbean-themed festival which has raised $7 Million in 16 years. Something Cool to Enjoy…

Louis C. Tiffany, “America’s Art Nouveau Renaissance man,” well-known for his stained glass, particularly his Belle Epoque lampshades, also created “Tiffany’s Glass Mosaics,” says Joe Harper in Spring issue of Departures. These beautiful creations will be on display and highly detailed photo exhibits will reconstruct those that couldn’t be transported.

This special exhibit currently being displayed at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York titled Tiffany’s Glass Mosaics until January 7, 2018. Co-curator Kelly Conway describes it as “a peek behind the scenes into the process. No other show that’s focused on Tiffany has really tackled this before.”
